Wooden Yew Sculpture.
- Who repaired it?
i_did
- How long did the repair take?
More of a recycle project than a repair really
- How much did it cost?
It cost me nothing as it was a piece of firewood recycled into the sculpture you see now.
- How was the object repaired?
The Yew was cleaned, and the rough design was marked and then worked on with a variety of different woodworking tools. It was then sanded with many different grades of sandpaper, and finally oiled and polished to a high finish.
- Why did you repair the object?
I recycled the object from a piece of firewood to this sculpture, because of the inherent beauty of the Yew material itself. It needed to be shown. It was made as a wedding present for my son who got married recently
- What would be important to you to be included in a Repair Declaration for Ireland?
Patience, patience and more patience. Only then will you arrive at the fruits of your labour.
