Saving my overalls
- Who repaired it?
i_did
- How long did the repair take?
30 minutes
- How much did it cost?
€7 (to buy a small sewing kit)
- How was the object repaired?
Resewed one button that popped off, and tightened the other button with more thread to prevent it from popping off (it was poorly made)
- Why did you repair the object?
I really like these overalls and they were expensive. I couldn't be bothered to go back to the store, the button popped off the first time I wore them with the tag still on, so I knew if I exchanged them for another pair then I would probably face the same problem again. I figured I could do a better job at securing the buttons than the manufacturer so I bought a sewing kit and I did just that.
- What would be important to you to be included in a Repair Declaration for Ireland?
Repairing is essential to sustainable communities; we need more access to the knowledge of how to repair if we want to enable circular economies and mitigate climate change. Repairing is also a great way to revive objects and give them new meanings.
