The frame is metal. I think it was very rusty. I tried cleaning with wire brush and scrapers, I couldn’t get off the rust. The upholsterer took helped and she succeeded with some solution. When cleaned she painted it.
Then it needed upholstery to be redone. I got 2 timber pieces from a local carpenter, cut to shape. The upholsterer finished it off.
- Why did you repair the object?
It was an old chair set, I bought 25 yrs earlier when I bought my house. I wanted to keep something old and give it new life.
