- Who repaired it?
- How long did the repair take?
10 hours over a few days
- How much did it cost?
- How was the object repaired?
The frame was repainted, photo was restored and medals were mounted along with a description of each of the historic GAA football club medals, some dating back almost 100 years
- Why did you repair the object?
These medals were a very dear family heirloom to me and they meant so much to my grandfather who won them playing senior club football for Milltown GAA in Westmeath. My grandfather has since passed away but these will forever be valued by our family and others interested in the history of our club.
- What would be important to you to be included in a Repair Declaration for Ireland?
It is so important that our society becomes more aware of the finite nature of resources on our planet. We need to create awareness, incentives and facilities to encourage repair of goods to extend their use. We need to create a culture where thrifty crafts for repair and upcycling are recognised financially and will form some of the solutions to our very owners climate action commitments on a local and national level
