As part of the Repair Acts, Ireland Festival we will explore the beautiful Ardan Wood and discuss its native woodland restoration
Ardan Wood is a beautiful woodland in Co. Westmeath. It is in the shape of a crescent and the middle field and surrounding fields have recently been purchased by the Native Woodland Trust.
Meeting at Ardan Wood on Sunday, 6th Nov at 11.00.
Staff of the Native Woodland Trust will guide the walk and discussion, which shares the ways in which the Trust plan to restore the surrounding land to supporting native Irish, and local, trees.
Tea, coffee and biscuits provided. If you have a reusable coffee cup, please bring this along with you too, as we have a limited number of reusable cups available.
Please carpool where it is possible to do so. Car parking is our limiting factor for the amount of people that can attend.
It is essential to bring warm and waterproof clothing and sturdy footwear.
The path running through this woodland is not paved, it is loose and steep in places. It is also necessary to occasionally climb under and over trees as we are preserving the woodland for nature.
Numbers limited to 35 people. Registration required via Eventbrite.
