We are delighted to be part of Somerset House, London’s group show Eternally Yours, a free exhibition exploring ideas around care, repair and healing. Sharing stories from professional repairs, whose pleasure to work with and document, as well as witness.
The exhibited works, took the form of a series of five, wooded framed digital prints and included the work of Mogli, Bike Mechanic from Belo Horizonte, Brazil; Arora, Stove Repairer from New Delhi; Bob, Technical Repair Engineer from Bristol and Corham, England and Declan (rip) and Olga, Book Restorers from Athlone, Westmeath. The fifth image ‘The Body Marks’ came from a series of images taken in 2018 on a trip to India, as part of the wider Repair Acts Network. ‘The Body Marks’ speaks to the daily livelihoods of the informal, street repairers whose working stations and homes are positioned across the New Delhi.
Other participating artists included: Celia Pym, Angela Maddock and Georgina Maxim, Studio Propolis, Ellen Sampson, Peter Marigold and Carl Clerkin, Bridget Harvey and Linda Brothwell.
